Downtown Detroit Senior Photos: Zoey

Image
Although Zoey has invited me for many sessions, her Senior Photos have been my personal favorite so far. We adventured into downtown Detroit the first weekend of August 2021 with a handful of locations and inspiration. With all our planning we were able to quickly get many photos that were stunning!  Parker's Alley      When Zoey reached out to me about this session, she explained that she needed someone that would be willing to work with her budget and still provide her with everything she wanted. Most photographers may have turned this customer away because they believe this person was not worth their time.  I on the other hand, saw this as a wonderful opportunity to not only build a larger portfolio but also to build I'd Snap That's relationship with Zoey. And boy am I glad I didn't disappoint her! Since her senior session Zoey has invited me take photos for her engagement and gender reveal. And I think it's safe to say that I c...

How I Became I'd Snap That

Image
I received my first digital camera at 10 years old for Christmas. My parents recognized long before, that I had an eye of a photographer. Therefore they were always handing the phone or disposable cameras to me.       Around the time I got my camera I needed a new hobby because I was no longer interested in dance or sports. I think that my parents timing could not have been better. The camera definitely got a great amount of use because all I wanted was to snap photos of anything and everything all the time. I may not had known exactly what I was doing at first but I knew that I enjoyed it. I knew that I enjoyed capturing my families special moments or an insect on a newly blossomed flower.       I quickly learned that having 1 or maybe 2 perfect photos out of 200 was not practical. So I began watching Youtube and talking to other photographers. I started putting all the notes that I had built up into play, perfecting my...

Actual Hospital Bag Packing Tips: Labor and Delivery

Image
Hey mama's and mama's to be! Even if this is your 3rd or 5th time packing your hospital bag you can feel like you have no idea what to pack. And if it's your first then you probably feel like a lost puppy and want to pack the whole house. Trust me you don't need to do that! Sometimes packing your hospital bag can feel like such a chore. Hopefully, my list of tips below can help mellow out all those thoughts and feelings and act as a guiding point while packing for your trip to the hospital.  What To Pack In Moms Hospital Bag Delivery Gown - This is not a must, I personally didn't have one when delivering Issac but wish I did. If I was to ever have another kid I would definitely put this on my checklist. Not only are the hospital gowns uncomfortable and scratchy. They aren't made to fit your body type. Being uncomfortable during labor due to your gown is the last thing you should have to experience. When purchasing a gown be sure that you select one that allows ...

4 Ways To Play With Your Toddler

Image
Let's Face It! Toddlers are cute and funny but when it comes to playing with them you run out of ideas. After all their attention span can last literal seconds. Playing with your little one should not feel like a chore. I have come up with some of our favorite activities that keep us busy so you can join in on the fun!  CHASE At this point your toddler knows how to make their way around pretty well... maybe too well. A great way for them to get even more practice running their little limbs is to play chase. Issac enjoys it most when we chase him but sometimes it's the other way around. No matter this activity is wonderful for both of you to get your exercise in and get their energy down. My son enjoys interacting with others more than playing by himself so this one keeps his attention.  PEEK-A-BOO We all know this game but our family has put a personal spin on it. Instead of using our hands to cover our faces, we like to use objects. We especially enjoy Dad's hat. Issac...

Simple Ways to Make Having a Baby Affordable

Image
Photo by  Karolina Grabowska  from  Pexels After accepting my pregnancy, all the adult questions we had been asking needed answers. One that we seemed to continuously circle back to was money. It's no secret that having a baby isn't cheap but they don't have to be expensive either. Here are some clever tips to budget for your baby.  Making Money Back! We spend so much money in our lifetime, there has to be a way to make some of it back beside your work income. Though these things seem minimal altogether they can put at least an extra $100 in your pocket by the end of 1 month. The most important thing to remember is that every dollar counts. Save The Change  One of the easiest ways to make plenty of money within a couple months is to go back to your younger days and get yourself a piggy bank. Now you don't necessarily have to use a literal piggy bank, you could use a glass jar or a large cup. But the point is that the coins that you let get lost under...

Our Decision to Accept Teen Parenthood

Image
Our Story My name is Sophia. I was 15 years old when my son was born. He is 14 months now and that makes me 17 years of age.  Let's not deny the obvious here... I'm a TEEN MOM! It's okay, you can say it. I can't deny it. And I have come to accept it.  As much as I like to act upon the adult role that comes along with having a child, the word "teen" is still my age and will be for the next 2 years. I think that when people imagine a teen mom they picture a young girl who is lazy, poor, and irresponsible. Also known as the disappointing wreck that will never get out of the hole they dug themselves.  Although this is sometimes true and not completely uncommon, I am here to tell you that not every teen mom is like the other. Every single teen mom is different from the other, we aren't cut from the same cloth. To say teen moms are all the same is an insult. There are plenty of misinterpretations on teen moms and how they come about. I am here to share the answe...
